Pentecost Day of Recollection

Saint John Paul II National Shrine - Washington, DC

Event Date:
Saturday, May 18, 2024

9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Join us for a day of retreat, as we reflect on the theme "Come, Spirit of Truth."

Our retreat master is Father James Dominic Brent, O.P. Fr. Brent is a Dominican Friar who lives and teaches at the Dominican House of Studies, and travels widely to deliver lectures in philosophy and theology, spiritual conferences, and retreats. He is the author of The Father's House: Discovering Our Home in the Trinity, and has recently begun producing Contemplata: A Podcast for Contemplative Souls.

Fr. James Brent, OP, will present the five promises of the Holy Spirit based on John Paul II’s encyclical Dominum et Vivificantem (The Lord and Giver of Life).

The retreat will also include daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, time for private prayer, an opportunity for Confession, spiritual conversations with religious Sisters.

At 7:00 pm, after the day of recollection, Fr. Brent will celebrate the Pentecost Extended Vigil Mass, which is a liturgical gem!
